Legal, Ethics and Compliance
Pamoja Mental Health & Safeguarding Network is committed to operating in full compliance with Kenyan law, national policies, and recognised professional and ethical standards in health, mental health, safeguarding, and community practice. We uphold transparency, accountability, and integrity across all areas of our governance, programmes, and partnerships.
Our clinical, training, and advocacy work is guided by relevant professional and regulatory bodies, including the Counsellors and Psychologists Board (CPB) and the Occupational Therapists Council of Kenya. All practitioners working under Pamoja are expected to practise within their scope, maintain appropriate registration, and adhere to professional codes of conduct.
We ensure that our work is evidence-based and aligned with Kenyan national legislation and policy frameworks, including the Mental Health Act, the Children Act, the Data Protection Act, and relevant national mental health and safeguarding policies and strategies. Safeguarding, confidentiality, informed consent, and data protection are embedded across all services, training activities, and community engagement.
Pamoja maintains clear safeguarding, complaints, and reporting mechanisms and responds promptly and appropriately to any concerns. We are committed to continuous learning and regular review of our policies and practice to ensure they remain lawful, ethical, effective, and responsive to the communities we serve.
